The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration at the Rec, 12th June 12:00 – 6:00pm

A special Party at the Rec that took place on Sunday 12th June, to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.
A variety of musical acts, from jazz and folk through to a military wives choir will provide the backdrop for the celebrations, alongside some very special local VIPs that have reached the same impressive milestone – with local Girl Guides on hand to ensure that the guests of honour are well looked after. In addition to the music, there will be a host of family entertainment activities; from pony rides to a bouncy assault course and a fun fair. There will be a wide selection of food outlets to keep everyone well fed, including a Scouts BBQ, Mr Roast Potato, Cream Teas provided by FOSS, refreshments provided by the Women’s Institute, a licensed bar and, of course, people are more than welcome to bring their own picnic. |
Royal Themed Art Competition
The Defence Academy Art Society are running a "Royal Themed" Art Competition open for all children at Shrivenham and Watchfield Schools.A selection of the best entries will be displayed on the day, with judging happening on the Sunday morning followed by prize giving by the Station Commander from the Defence Academy at 3:15, with prizes awarded across the different age groups.
The fantastic art prizes have kindly been donated by Broad Canvas of Oxford.
